Resident Evil 10 release date: not announced, and Veronica comes first

There’s no Resident Evil 10 yet, but there is a next Resident Evil. Here’s where the mainline series stands, what Capcom has dated and what the past gaps suggest.

Is Resident Evil 10 announced?

No. Capcom hasn’t announced a 10th mainline Resident Evil, so there’s no title, release date or platform list for it.

The newest numbered game is Resident Evil Requiem, which Capcom calls the ninth title in the mainline series. It came out on Feb. 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, and costs $69.99 on Steam. Requiem has two protagonists, FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, and is set roughly 30 years after the Raccoon City incident.

It’s also the series' fastest seller. Requiem passed 8 million units by June 30, 2026, faster than any previous Resident Evil, and won an Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards 2026 in September. In May, Capcom added a free minigame, Leon Must Die Forever, unlocked by finishing the story.

The next Resident Evil is Veronica, in 2027

The next game on Capcom’s calendar is Resident Evil Veronica, a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which first came out in 2000. Capcom revealed it on June 5, 2026, and says it’s scheduled for 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

Capcom describes it as the latest installment in the series, with a reimagined story and graphics built on its RE Engine, set three months after the Raccoon City incident. The release date and more details will come later, according to Capcom. The Steam page lists 2027 and is open for wishlists. When could Resident Evil 10 come out?

Capcom hasn’t given any hint. The last three mainline games came out in January 2017 (Resident Evil 7), May 2021 (Village) and February 2026 (Requiem), gaps of about four and a quarter years and about four and three quarter years.

Adding a similar gap to Requiem’s launch lands somewhere around 2030 or 2031. That’s simple arithmetic, not a Capcom date. Capcom has also filled the gaps with remakes before: Resident Evil 2 in January 2019, Resident Evil 3 in April 2020 and Resident Evil 4 in March 2023, and Veronica plays that role now. Capcom also says the series has passed 201 million units sold since 1996, as of March 31, 2026.

If you’re catching up, Requiem is the newest story, and the older games are cheaper. On Steam, Resident Evil Village costs $39.99 and Resident Evil 7 $19.99. Switch 2 owners got three more on Oct. 16, 2026: Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition.
