Lumiose City has a stranger twin, and getting there costs $29.99 or, soon, one game card. Here’s what the Mega Dimension DLC includes and how to play it.

What is the Pokémon Legends Z-A DLC?

It’s called Mega Dimension, and it’s the only DLC Nintendo’s US store lists for the game. Nintendo’s US eShop sells it for $29.99, and it works with both Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which came out on Oct. 16, 2025, for $59.99 and $69.99. Switch owners can move to the Switch 2 Edition with a $9.99 upgrade pack.

The DLC arrived in two parts, which can’t be bought separately. Buyers could claim the Holo-X and Holo-Y apparel items from the game’s launch and wear them in the main story. The story content followed on Dec. 10, 2025, on both systems.

How do you start it?

Finish the main story first. Mega Dimension continues your journey after the main game, when mysterious distortions appear in Lumiose City. The Mythical Pokémon Hoopa can turn them into portals to Hyperspace Lumiose, but its power only awakens when it gets one of the donuts that Ansha, a talented baker, makes from Berries. Each donut also grants you and your Pokémon useful effects in hyperspace.

Once you’re through, you investigate with Korrina, a successor to a line of Mega Evolution gurus, and Team MZ.

What’s new in Hyperspace Lumiose?

Tougher Pokémon. Nintendo says the Pokémon there are different and sometimes rare, and some have hyperspace levels that push their total level past the normal limit of 100. Stronger Hyperspace Berries help with the high-level ones.

There are new Mega Evolutions too: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, Mega Chimecho, which can make six smaller copies of itself, and Mega Baxcalibur, whose Mega Stone is a reward from the Z-A Battle Club for advancing in online Ranked Battles. A side mission for players who finished the main story features Mega Diancie. On Pokémon Day, Feb. 27, 2026, The Pokémon Company announced Mega Garchomp Z, a pure Dragon type, for Hyperspace Lumiose, along with a link between the game and Pokémon HOME.

Is there a physical version?

Starting Oct. 29, 2026. The Pokémon Company says the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle puts both the Switch 2 Edition and the DLC on one game card. Nintendo’s US store lists it at $99.99, and it comes with an insert containing a code for 100 Ultra Balls, claimed through the game’s Mystery Gift function.

Played on an original Switch, the Switch 2 Edition has the same content as the Switch version, without the features that need Switch 2 hardware. Digitally, Nintendo sells the game and DLC together for $99.99 as the Switch 2 Edition bundle or $89.99 for Switch.
