No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 is set for March 2027 on PC and PS5, with an open beta in December. Here’s what Moon Studios has said about the date, the price, the Founders Pack and what the full release adds.

When does No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 come out?

In March 2027, on PC through Steam and on PlayStation 5. Moon Studios, the studio behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, hasn’t given an exact day. The game has been in Early Access on Steam since April 18, 2024.

Xbox Series X and S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are listed as to be determined. Crossplay and cross-save between PC and console are planned from the 1.0 launch.

Why it moved to March 2027

When Moon Studios announced the 1.0 launch on June 2, 2026, it set October 2026 for both PC and PS5. On Sept. 1, it moved the launch to March 2027. The studio said the extra months will help it improve performance, tighten the class system and polish the whole game, and that as a small team it would rather take more time than ship something it knows isn’t ready.

In a later post, the studio said it knows many players are disappointed by the delay, and so is the team. It said its latest playtest convinced it the game needs more polish, and promised to share progress more often.

Open beta in December and the class system

The delay brings more tests. Moon Studios plans an open beta in December 2026, with all 24 classes of the new class system playable. The system adds more than 280 class traits, six trait slots and six factions, and every class gets its own armor. Moon Studios says two players using the same weapon will play nothing alike.

The studio went deeper on classes in its Wicked Inside showcase on Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. ET, and its post announcing the show said the class system lands with the open beta in December. It has also shown two of the new zones coming to Sacra at 1.0: Sylvan Hollow, a petrified forest of crystal and sapphire pools, and the Reliquary, an ancient place full of long-buried secrets.

Price and the Founders Pack

No Rest for the Wicked costs $39.99 on Steam, and on Oct. 18 it was 30% off at $27.99. Moon Studios hasn’t said whether the price changes at 1.0, and it hasn’t priced the PS5 version. Expected price: about $39.99 on PS5, our estimate, matching Steam.

Everyone who buys the game on Steam before Jan. 1, 2027, gets the Founders Pack free when 1.0 launches. That cutoff was July 10 until the delay. The pack includes Spirit Cavern, an exclusive hideout inside Isola Sacra, Sayer’s Vow, a sword only Founders can own, a Founder’s Tag with a special frame and font, and the Founders Test Realm, which gives access to beta tests before updates reach everyone. On PS5, pre-orders open in January 2027, and pre-ordering any time before launch day earns the same rewards.

What 1.0 adds

Moon Studios calls 1.0 a massive expansion: about a hundred hours of content for solo and multiplayer players, with more than 60 hours of new content. The full game has more than 15 hand-crafted regions, a new horde mode, new weapons, bosses and enemies, and the final story arc, with many new cinematic scenes. There are new endgame activities for the most dedicated players.

Co-op supports up to four players, and persistent multiplayer lets you share your journey in free private realms where the world keeps changing even when you’re offline. Moon Studios said on July 7, 2026, that the game had sold 2 million copies in Early Access.
