Mouthwashing comes to consoles on Oct. 29, with Game Pass on day one and a $12.99 price

Mouthwashing leaves PC for the first time on Oct. 29, and Game Pass members get it on day one. Here’s when it unlocks where you live, what it costs on each console and what to know before you play.

When does Mouthwashing come out on consoles?

Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026. Critical Reflex and Wrong Organ first announced the console versions in February 2025 and set the date on Oct. 20 with a new trailer. The Microsoft Store lists 14:00 UTC, and US clocks are still on daylight time that day.

It arrives on the busiest day of the week, and our new games this week page has the rest.

How much is Mouthwashing on PS5, Xbox and Switch?

Game Pass members pay nothing extra: Mouthwashing joins Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass on Oct. 29, the same day as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Our new Game Pass games page has the full list. The Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers Xbox and PC, with shared achievements and cloud saves.

The PlayStation Store page is up with an ESRB Mature rating and a one-player listing, but without a date or price. Expected price: $12.99, our estimate, matching Xbox and Switch.

What is Mouthwashing?

A first-person horror game about the dying crew of the Tulpar, a cargo freighter shipwrecked in empty space under a permanent sunset. Captain Curly survived the crash maimed, limbless and unable to speak, at the mercy of a crew with no way home. The power runs out within six months, the food long before that, and nobody is coming to help.

You follow the five crew members as they deal with starvation, isolation and each other, piecing the story together from conversations and the ship around you. It’s a story-driven game in a low-poly style that recalls the first PlayStation, built on atmosphere and dread.

Physical edition, ratings and languages

Fangamer is making a physical edition for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Its page takes sign-ups for an alert and hasn’t posted a date or price.

The ESRB rates Mouthwashing Mature for intense violence, blood and gore and strong language, and PEGI rates it 16. On Xbox consoles, it’s a download of about 3.5 to 3.7 GB, and about 3 GB on PC. The Oct. 29 update adds Italian, and the eShop listing covers English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Polish and two kinds each of Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.

For more scares this month, our upcoming PS5 games list covers the next big launches on PlayStation.

This page is updated as soon as the PlayStation Store lists the Mouthwashing price and time or Fangamer opens physical pre-orders.
