The Wolf Among Us Remastered release date: Oct. 29, with physical copies in early 2027

Bigby Wolf’s first case comes back in less than two weeks, 13 years after the original’s first episode. Here’s what’s official.

When does The Wolf Among Us Remastered come out?

On Oct. 29, 2026, digitally. Telltale announced the date at Gamescom in August, and the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store both list the launch for 9 a.m. ET that day. The remaster was revealed at Summer Game Fest in June 2026, and it’s rated M for Mature by the ESRB.

There’s no price yet, and pre-orders aren’t open. Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store let you add it to your wishlist, and Steam lists a demo as coming soon. Telltale hasn’t announced a free upgrade or a discount for owners of the original, which still sells for $14.99 on Steam.

Which platforms is it on?

On Oct. 29, it’s coming to PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, to PS5 and to Xbox One, and it’s playable on Xbox Series X and S through backward compatibility.

Is it coming to Switch?

Telltale’s Gamescom announcement put Switch on Oct. 29 too, calling it the series' first time on a Nintendo platform. Telltale’s game page now lists Switch apart from the launch platforms, with no store link or date, and Nintendo’s US store doesn’t have a listing yet. Telltale’s June reveal also listed Switch 2, but the Gamescom announcement names only Switch, and there’s no Switch 2 date.

Is there a physical edition?

Yes, but later. Telltale says physical retail editions follow in the first quarter of 2027, with details to be announced. When it revealed the remaster in June, Telltale had planned them for later in the 2026 holiday season. Until then, the remaster is digital only.

What’s new in the remaster

It includes all five episodes: Faith, Smoke and Mirrors, A Crooked Mile, In Sheep’s Clothing and Cry Wolf. Telltale has improved the lighting, animation, environments, audio, resolution and frame rate, updated the interface and added accessibility features.

The headline addition is Noir Mode, which plays the whole story in black and white, and you can switch it on or off at any time. There’s also more than an hour of behind-the-scenes interviews and videos, playable deleted scenes that were never released and a gallery of images, many of them shown for the first time.

What about The Wolf Among Us 2?

It’s coming in 2027, Telltale says. Telltale and co-publisher PM Studios showed it at Summer Game Fest in June 2026, along with the remaster. The story picks up five months after the original, with Bigby still the sheriff of Fabletown. Our Wolf Among Us 2 release date page has the platforms and the story so far.
