GTA 6 release time: midnight ET on Nov. 19, or 9 p.m. PT on Nov. 18

GTA 6 has a release date, and the stores have set the minute. Here’s when it unlocks where you live.

What time does GTA 6 come out?

Midnight Eastern time on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026. Sony’s PlayStation listing sets the release at 05:00 UTC, and it unlocks at the same moment everywhere, so the West Coast gets it the evening before. Daylight saving time ends on Nov. 1 in the US, so these are standard times.

In the US, that’s midnight ET, 11 p.m. CT, 10 p.m. MT and 9 p.m. PT, the last three on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Alaska gets it at 8 p.m. and Hawaii at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18. Mexico City is 11 p.m. on Nov. 18.

Elsewhere on Nov. 19, it’s 2 a.m. in São Paulo, 5 a.m. in London, 6 a.m. in Paris and Berlin, 10:30 a.m. in India, 2 p.m. in Tokyo and 4 p.m. in Sydney. Some stores outside the US list Nov. 18 because of time zones, but it’s the same minute.

Preload and boxed copies

Digital pre-orders can preload from Nov. 12, 2026, a week before launch. Rockstar hasn’t announced the hour preloading opens or the final file size; our GTA 6 file size page tracks it.

Boxed copies go on sale on Nov. 12 too, but Rockstar says the box holds a download code, so you’ll download the game either way. Prices are $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition; our pre-order and editions page breaks them down.

Where you can play it

GTA 6 launches on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version, as our GTA 6 PC page explains. Everything else is on our main GTA 6 page.

This page is updated as soon as Rockstar or the stores announce preload hours, the file size or any change to the launch time.
