The International 2027 location: Valve hasn't announced it yet, after Team Spirit won TI 2026 in Shanghai
Valve hasn't announced the location or dates of The International 2027, Dota 2's world championship, as of Oct. 18, 2026. In the last cycle, Valve asked for broadcast proposals on Dec. 12, 2025, and named the host city on Feb. 12, 2026, when it put The International 2026 in Shanghai for Aug. 20 to 23. If Valve follows the same rhythm, the next location news would land around the turn of the year, but Valve hasn't given a timeline. TI 2026, the event's 15th anniversary, ended at the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center with Team Spirit beating Team Vision 3-2 in a five-game grand final, which made Yatoro and Collapse three-time champions. The 2025 edition was at Barclays Arena in Hamburg, where Team Falcons won.

Dota’s world championship hasn’t picked its 2027 home yet. Here’s what Valve has said, when it usually announces the host and how TI 2026 ended.
Where is The International 2027?
Valve hasn’t announced it. Its Dota 2 announcements through Oct. 7, 2026, don’t mention a location, dates or a broadcast call for The International 2027. The last two editions moved between continents: Hamburg hosted TI 2025 at Barclays Arena, and Shanghai hosted TI 2026 at the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center.
When Valve usually announces TI
The 2026 cycle gives the clearest timeline. Valve opened broadcast license requests for TI 2026 on Dec. 12, 2025, and announced Shanghai and the Aug. 20 to 23 dates on Feb. 12, 2026, about six months out. Team registration followed on May 4, the seven direct invites on May 26, open qualifiers on June 9 to 12 and regional qualifiers on June 15 to 28. Ticket sales opened on June 10.
If the 2027 edition follows the same pattern, a broadcast call would come around December 2026 and the host city early in 2027. That’s our read of the last cycle, not a Valve announcement.
How The International 2026 ended
TI 2026 was the event’s 15th anniversary. Sixteen teams played a Swiss group stage on Aug. 13 to 16, and eight moved to the arena: Team Vision, Team Liquid, Nigma Galaxy, Team Falcons, BoomBoys, Team Spirit, Iron Wing and Team Yandex.
Team Spirit took the long road. Losses to Team Vision and Nigma Galaxy pushed Spirit into an elimination match in the group stage, and a 1-2 loss to Vision in the main event dropped the team into the lower bracket. From there, Spirit didn’t drop a game against Team Liquid, BoomBoys or Team Yandex, and beat Team Vision 3-2 in the grand final on Aug. 23 after an hour-long game five.
The winning roster was Yatoro, Larl, Collapse, not_me and rue. Yatoro and Collapse became three-time winners, and Larl a two-time winner.
The last two hosts
TI 2025 ran its playoffs online on Sept. 4 to 7 and its arena days at Barclays Arena in Hamburg on Sept. 11 to 14, 2025. Team Falcons won a five-game grand final against Xtreme Gaming, after only three sweeps in ten series. TI 2026 moved to Shanghai, where domestic fans bought tickets with a Chinese ID and international fans through Trip.com, all with assigned seats.
Valve’s next big stage is Counter-Strike: the CS2 Major Singapore 2026 runs from Nov. 24 to Dec. 13.
This page is updated as soon as Valve announces the location and dates of The International 2027.
