Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest launches on every major platform next week. Here’s when Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest comes out, what each edition costs and how it plays.

When does Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest come out?

On Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC, through Steam and the Microsoft Store. The PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop and Steam all list that date, and pre-orders are open on each. Microsoft’s weekly roundup of new Xbox games, posted on Oct. 16, places it under Oct. 22, one day earlier than the store date.

Price, Feral Edition and pre-order bonus

The standard edition costs $29.99 on every platform. The Feral Edition costs $39.99 and adds the Prophecy Pack: eight accessories for the cat creator, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded character skin, four cat poses for photo mode and four photo mode effects. The Prophecy Pack also sells on its own for $14.99, and Steam offers only the standard edition plus that add-on.

Buying before launch adds The Purrfect Look Pack, with four unique cat creator elements that are available only to early buyers. On the Nintendo eShop, purchases made by Oct. 23 at 12 a.m. PT qualify.

What is Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest about?

An original story set in the Lake Territories of the Warrior Cats book series. You create your own warrior cat, take on quests to win favor with your Clan and grow your legend, and meet nine cats from the books along the way. You climb trees, pounce through undergrowth, track scents and solve environmental puzzles while uncovering the mysteries of StarClan.

The map covers six locations: ThunderClan's dense forests, RiverClan's marshlands, ShadowClan's dark pine swamps, WindClan's open moors and the sacred sites of The Moonpool and The Island. You hunt birds, rabbits and squirrels, forage for materials and craft items in your den.

Cat creator and game modes

The cat creator offers millions of possible combinations of fur, patterns, markings and eye colors, including separate colors for each eye. There are three modes. Prophecy Mode tells four original stories about Clan life, Defender Mode tests how long you last against the game’s fiercest enemies in a single run, and Skirmish Mode lets you battle other players online asynchronously. Characters, quests and stories are procedurally generated, so no two playthroughs are the same.

Turn-based combat and enemies

Battles are turn-based, with up to three cats on each side, and there are 75 combat moves to discover and unlock. Enemies range from mice and squirrels to badgers, foxes, Dobermanns and rival Clan cats. Online, you can visit a friend’s camp, craft items for friends or gift them resources and materials. The ESRB rates the game E10+ for Fantasy Violence.

Who makes it, and what you need on PC

Bamtang Games develops the game, and Trailmark Games publishes it. On PC, Steam lists Windows 10 or 11, a quad-core 2.8 GHz processor, 8 GB of memory, a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580 and 4 GB of storage as the minimum, with full controller support. Voices are in English, and the text also comes in French, Italian, German, Spanish and Dutch.
