Ghost of Yōtei DLC: Echoes of Sekigahara came out Oct. 1, and here's how to get it

Atsu’s story got its first expansion on the game’s first anniversary. Here’s when it came out, what it costs and what’s in it.

When did the Ghost of Yōtei DLC come out?

On Oct. 1, 2026, with patch 2.0 on PS5, and on Oct. 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Sucker Punch released two additions at once: Echoes of Sekigahara, a story expansion, and Most Wanted, a single-player combat survival mode. Ghost of Yōtei itself came out on Oct. 2, 2025.

How much does it cost?

If you own Ghost of Yōtei, the Complete Edition Upgrade costs $14.99 and adds both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted, plus the in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. If you’re new to the game, the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition costs $69.99 and includes the main game, both additions and Legends.

The Oct. 1 patch also added a few things for every owner, upgrade or not: the Beauty of Yōtei mode, a screensaver-style view of Ezo for Photo Mode shots, new tracks for Watanabe Mode, an option to keep one armor set’s look while using another’s stats, and a high contrast accessibility setting.

What is Echoes of Sekigahara about?

The story is split between two periods of Atsu’s life. In flashbacks, you play Atsu’s time in the Battle of Sekigahara and learn about Nagato, a fighter from Atsu’s past. In the present, Nagato has arrived in Ezo and is wanted by the Vipers, outlaws who were loyal to the Snake and were left without a leader after the Snake’s death.

The Vipers are poachers who have taken over Ashoro Foothills, a previously unseen area of Ezo that was once full of wildlife. Atsu reluctantly teams up with Nagato to find a close ally the Vipers have taken. The expansion adds new enemy types, heavy weapons, mythic tales and abilities, armor sets and cosmetics, and Erika Ishii returns as the voice of Atsu.

What is Most Wanted?

It’s Sucker Punch’s take on a roguelike. You pick a bounty on one of the Yōtei Six, fight waves of enemies and minibosses, choose perks after each wave and face the bounty’s final boss. Bounties can be replayed at higher difficulty, ending with the hardest one, against Lord Saito. You earn Mon to unlock techniques, weapon upgrades, charms and characters between runs, and cosmetics you earn carry over to the main game.

There are four playable characters: Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with the kusarigama, Nagato with the yari and bows, and Jin Sakai, the hero of Ghost of Tsushima, with all four of the original stances.

What about Legends?

Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the online co-op mode, came out on March 10, 2026, free for every owner of the game. It has a Survival mode for up to four players, a two-player Story mode with 12 missions and four-player Incursions against supernatural versions of the Yōtei Six. Playing online requires PS Plus.
