Before it comes Arc of Tomorrow, a free update adding a fourth Age, the Atomic Age, from the 1950s to the 2050s. The paid DLC so far is five content collections: Crossroads of the World, Right to Rule, Tides of Power and Brush and Blade at $29.99 each, and Hall of History, released on Sept. 15, 2026, at $19.99. Civilization 7’s first expansion, Earthrise, comes in 2027, after a free update that adds a fourth Age. Here’s what both add, every DLC collection and its price and what Earthrise should cost.

What is the next Civilization 7 DLC?

Earthrise, the first paid expansion for Civilization VII. Firaxis unveiled it at PAX West on Sept. 5, 2026, during the series' 35th anniversary, and opened Steam wishlists on Sept. 16, 2026. It’s coming in 2027, and Firaxis hasn’t announced a price, a day or a month.

Earthrise arrives after Arc of Tomorrow, a free update also due in 2027, which Firaxis describes as even bigger than the Test of Time update of May 2026. Arc of Tomorrow launches first, with Earthrise soon to follow. Firaxis plans a lighter update schedule after Update 1.5.0 while the team focuses on both.

What Earthrise adds

Earthrise is themed around the space race. Your civ charts the night sky and names celestial bodies in the Antiquity and Exploration Ages, launches early orbital missions around Earth and the Moon in the Modern Age and founds a space agency in the Atomic Age to send missions across the solar system. Each mission uncovers planetary features and resources that feed your empire back on Earth.

The solar system lives on its own map, the Planetarium, a node-based chart rather than a hex map, so you explore planets, moons and asteroids instead of building cities on them. Firaxis says lifting the Science Victory is a key goal, and it added an astronomer who has worked on NASA space telescope projects to the team to keep the solar systems grounded.

The other half is the environment. New units and technologies alter terrain and tile bonuses, natural disasters intensify as global temperatures rise, and you can build defenses or reverse the warming itself. Civs that master the tundra, desert or tropics earn bonuses in those biomes, and Earthrise brings new civs and leaders, including African civs, plus changes to Pantheons.

Arc of Tomorrow, the free update

Arc of Tomorrow adds the Atomic Age, a fourth Age that extends the timeline from the 1950s to the 2050s. It brings expanded nuclear gameplay with new offensive and defensive units, Multilateral Agreements for disarmament or escalation, the option to turn your own Settlements into City-States and proxy wars, where City-States fight each other on your behalf.

It also adds Great Works of Film, made by Film Crews hunting for locations, Manufactured Goods such as Enriched Uranium, new espionage actions, Missile Silos, Mobile SAMs and new civs and leaders. You can play from Antiquity to the Atomic Age or jump straight in with an Advanced Start, and every owner of Civilization VII gets it free.

Every DLC collection and price

The paid DLC so far comes in collections of leaders, civs and Wonders, each delivered in-game. Crossroads of the World, $29.99, has Ada Lovelace and Simón Bolívar and the civs of Carthage, Great Britain, Nepal and Bulgaria. Right to Rule, $29.99, has Genghis Khan and Lakshmibai with Assyria, Dai Viet, Qajar and Silla.

Tides of Power, $29.99, arrived in December 2025 with the pirate Edward Teach and Sayyida al Hurra, plus Tonga, the Republic of Pirates, the Ottomans and Iceland. Brush and Blade, $29.99, came in two parts, on June 23 and in July 2026, with Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Yi Sun-sin, Heian Japan, Sengoku Japan, Goryeo and Joseon.

The Hall of History Collection

The newest collection, Hall of History, came out on Sept. 15, 2026, with Update 1.5.0, at $19.99. Instead of a region or a period, it brings back classic Civ figures: Elizabeth I, a cultural and economic leader built around long trade routes, and George Washington, a diplomatic and expansionist leader, with the civs of Babylon, the Gauls and England.

Smaller DLC fills the gaps. The Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack costs $7.99, and four leader personas, Himiko, Ashoka, Xerxes and Friedrich, cost $3.99 each.

Free updates and leaders

Test of Time, Update 1.4.0, arrived free on May 19, 2026, as the biggest update since launch. It lets you start and stay as any civ in any Age, replaced Legacy Paths with Triumphs, reworked all four Victories and added two leaders, Alexander the Great and Gilgamesh. Update 1.4.1 on June 23 added Hotseat multiplayer and reworked Governments and Happiness, and 1.4.2 on July 28 expanded Peace Deals.

Earthrise price

Firaxis hasn’t announced it. Expected price: about $39.99, our estimate. Firaxis names Civilization VI: Gathering Storm and Civilization V: Brave New World as inspirations, and on Steam those expansions cost $39.99 and $29.99.
