Switch 2 price: $499.99 after Nintendo's $50 increase
The Nintendo Switch 2 costs $499.99 in the US, before tax. Nintendo raised the price by $50, from the $449.99 it launched at, on Sept. 1, 2026, and raised it in Canada and Europe the same day. The Mario Kart World bundle now costs $549.99, a new Switch Sports Resort bundle arrives Oct. 22 at $529.99, and the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition is $519.99 on Oct. 29.

That is $50 more than the $449.99 it launched at on June 5, 2025: Nintendo announced the increase on May 8, 2026, and it took effect on Sept. 1, 2026, in the US, Canada and Europe. Nintendo said it revised prices “in light of changes in market conditions, and after considering the global business outlook,” and that it expects the impact of those changes to extend over the medium to long term. The company apologized for the impact on customers. It has not announced another increase.
Switch 2 price in every region
In Japan, the increase applies to the Japanese-language system; the multi-language Switch 2 sold on My Nintendo Store there kept its price. Japan also raised the prices of the original Switch models and, from July 1, of Nintendo Switch Online. Nintendo says online membership prices will change in South Korea as well, and has not announced changes for the US.
Which Switch 2 bundle to buy
The Mario Kart World bundle ($549.99) costs $50 more than the console alone. The Switch Sports Resort bundle ($529.99) arrives on Oct. 22 with Nintendo’s new Switch 2 exclusive of 12 motion-control sports. The Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition ($519.99) has green-and-gold Joy-Con 2 and a Triforce dock, but no game; Ocarina of Time, which launches Nov. 5, is sold separately, as our Ocarina of Time page explains.
Nintendo’s store also lists a Choose Your Game Bundle at $499.99, the console plus Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza or Pokémon Pokopia, but it shows as out of stock.
What accessories and older Switch models cost
Game prices were not part of Nintendo’s notice. Nintendo’s own Switch 2 games run from $49.99 (Nintendo Switch Sports Resort) to $79.99 (Mario Kart World) on its US store; Ocarina of Time is $59.99 digital. The full list of what is coming is in our upcoming Switch 2 games calendar.
