Overwatch’s world championship heads to China. Here’s when the OWCS World Finals 2026 run, where tickets stand and how teams get there.
When and where are the OWCS World Finals 2026?
From Dec. 2 to 6, 2026, in Guangzhou, China, according to Blizzard. The event has five days of competition. The first two days are studio matches that decide the first elimination games, and the final three days, Dec. 4 to 6, move to Guangzhou Gymnasium, where fans can watch in person.
Guangzhou is 13 hours ahead of ET in December, so a 1 p.m. start there is midnight ET. Blizzard hasn’t published match times. The 2025 World Finals used the same setup, with two studio days at DreamHack Stockholm before the teams moved on stage.
OWCS World Finals 2026 tickets
Blizzard hasn’t announced ticket sales or prices for Guangzhou. Its Stage 3 guide says the last three days at Guangzhou Gymnasium are open to fans, which puts the public days on Dec. 4 to 6. In 2025, World Finals seats came with DreamHack Stockholm tickets, with an OWCS add-on, prime seats and VIP extras on offer.
How the World Finals work
Blizzard hasn’t published the 2026 bracket or the number of teams. The 2025 World Finals brought 12 teams from four regions, Asia, China, EMEA and North America, into a double elimination bracket, and the two studio days covered the first two upper bracket rounds.
The prize pool is crowdfunded through special OWCS bundles in Overwatch, and Blizzard hasn’t announced the 2026 amount. The 2025 World Finals bundle, the Scarlet Flare OWCS Crowdfunding Mega Bundle, cost 4,500 Overwatch Coins.
How teams qualify for Guangzhou
Every team in Stage 3 is playing for a World Finals spot. In North America and EMEA, six teams per region play a regular season on Oct. 10 and 11, Oct. 17 and 18 and Oct. 24 and 25, and the top four in each region reach a double elimination playoff on Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. Disguised, NTMR, Team Peps and 1234 earned their Stage 3 places through the promotion and relegation tournament.
In Asia, Korea, Japan and the Pacific play their own leagues, and the Pacific was moved to Oct. 26 to 29 and Nov. 2 and 3 because of regional network problems. Eight teams then meet at the OWCS Asia Stage 3 Finals at BEXCO Auditorium during the G-STAR convention in Busan, South Korea, and the top four advance to Guangzhou. China plays its Stage 3 playoffs on Nov. 7 and 8, according to Blizzard’s season schedule.
Who won the last OWCS World Finals?
Twisted Minds beat Al Qadsiah 4-1 in the 2025 final at DreamHack Stockholm, which ran from Nov. 26 to 30, 2025. The defending champion has had a harder 2026: Geekay Esports knocked the team down to EMEA’s third seed in the Stage 2 playoffs.
The 2026 Midseason Championship, held at the Esports World Cup in Paris from July 29 to Aug. 2, went to ZETA DIVISION, one of the OWCS Asia partner teams, with Twisted Minds, T1 and Weibo Gaming close behind.
