CDL 2027 schedule: the Call of Duty League starts on Dec. 4, plays four Majors from February to June and ends with Champs on July 8 to 11

The Call of Duty League’s next season has a calendar. Here’s when every 2027 event happens, where the Majors are and what’s new.

What’s on the CDL 2027 schedule?

The season starts on Friday, Dec. 4, 2026, with the online Kickoff Classic, and ends with Championship Weekend on July 8 to 11, 2027, according to the league. The full calendar, with every date subject to change:

Major I runs from the Kickoff Classic on Dec. 4 to 13 through a Minor on Jan. 8 to 10, online qualifiers from Jan. 15 to Feb. 7 and the LAN in Europe on Feb. 12 to 14. Major II has a Minor on Feb. 26 to 28, qualifier tournaments from March 5 to 28 and the LAN in Birmingham on April 2 to 4. Major III has a Minor on April 16 to 18, qualifiers from April 23 to May 16 and the LAN in Toronto on May 20 to 23. Major IV has qualifiers from May 28 to June 13 and the LAN on the West Coast on June 18 to 20.

Where are the 2027 Majors?

Major I is in Europe, after two record-breaking European events in 2026, but the league hasn’t named the city. Major II is in Birmingham, England, with DreamHack, where the 2026 Major was the biggest UK Call of Duty event yet. Major III returns to Toronto, hosted by Toronto KOI. Major IV closes the regular season on the US West Coast, with the city still to come.

Championship Weekend is hosted by OpTic Texas, and the league hasn’t announced the city or tickets. OpTic lost the 2026 title in a grand final against the Vegas Falcons, and the league says the team wants that crown back.

How the 2027 season works

The Kickoff Classic is a two-week online Pro-Am. CDL teams rank each other to set the seeds, two North American Challengers teams from each of the first two Challengers Cups join a week one group stage, and the top eight advance to a double elimination bracket in week two. Three online Minor tournaments follow during the season, each a 16-team single elimination gauntlet with Challengers teams, a first for online CDL play.

Majors I, III and IV use classic online qualifiers to set LAN seeding, with four weeks for Majors I and III and three for Major IV. Major II swaps them for two online qualifier tournaments: a 12-team double elimination bracket, then a round robin with four groups of three and an eight-team bracket. At Major III, the bottom six qualifying teams play a single elimination play-in for the last two spots in an eight-team double elimination bracket. Majors II and IV are LAN Pro-Ams, with the top two Challengers teams from the preceding Opens and the North America and EMEA Elite winners. CDL Points work the same way as in 2025 and 2026.

What’s new in 2027

The season runs on Modern Warfare 4, which launches on Oct. 23, 2026, as our Modern Warfare 4 release date page explains. Matches use Hardpoint, Search and Destroy and Hijack, a new Modern Warfare 4 mode built with feedback from pro players, on a map pool of five Hardpoint, five Search and Destroy and three Hijack maps.

M80 Boston joins as a new team, for 12 in all. Coaches can be on stage at every LAN and talk to players between Search and Destroy rounds and during respawn modes. In the best-of-seven grand finals at each Major, the team from the losers' bracket loses its map bans, which gives the winners' bracket team a bigger edge. Online, a team that loses the coin flip in a first qualifier meeting automatically wins it in the rematch.

Call of Duty Challengers starts on Nov. 14, 2026, with the first Challengers Cup, and Challengers Opens return for every Major.

This page is updated as soon as the league names the cities for Major I, Major IV and Championship Weekend.
