Honor Magic 9 release date: out in China now, and Honor UK says January 2027

Honor launched the Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro Max in China on Sept. 28, 2026, from CNY 4,999 and CNY 6,499. Honor’s UK store says the series arrives there from January 2027. Honor doesn’t sell phones in the US.

When does the Honor Magic 9 come out?

It’s already out in China. Honor unveiled the Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro Max at an event in Beijing on Sept. 28, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. local time, and put both on sale as soon as they were announced. Honor’s China store also lists the Magic 9 Super Power, a cheaper model with a bigger battery. On Oct. 1, Honor’s global marketing chief said some versions were out of stock and that activations on the third day of sales were more than 70% higher than for the Magic 8.

Outside China, Honor’s UK and Italian stores have sign-up pages for the Magic 9 series that say it arrives from January 2027, with an early-bird discount for people who register; its Spanish store says January. In its English-language launch announcement on Sept. 28, Honor said rollouts of the Pro Max in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Southeast Asia and other markets will be announced shortly. It hasn’t named the US, a launch date or prices outside China.

Honor hasn’t confirmed reports, based on a store video, that the global Pro Max has a 7,030mAh battery instead of the Chinese model’s 8,800mAh. Last year’s Magic 8 Pro also had a smaller battery in the UK, 6,270mAh, than in China.

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max specs

The Pro Max is the camera flagship. Honor co-developed its two 200MP cameras with ARRI, the German company behind many Hollywood film cameras, and the phone can shoot in ARRI’s LogC3 format. It comes with 14 ARRI color looks, and Honor offers ARRI’s full library of 87 as a download. Its periscope telephoto zooms 3.5x, and Honor sells two add-on lenses that clip over it: the G200, which reaches the equivalent of 200mm, and the G500, which reaches 500mm.

It’s one of the first phones with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, the same chip as the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and the OnePlus 16. Honor says its battery is 40% silicon, and the phone has both 3D face unlock and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Honor Magic 9 specs

The standard Magic 9 is a small flagship, with a 6.37-inch screen and bezels Honor puts at 0.95mm. It keeps two 200MP ARRI cameras, a main camera and a 3.5x telephoto, but uses last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Honor Magic 9 Super Power specs

The Super Power is the big-battery model. Honor says its 11,000mAh battery is the largest it has put in a flagship, and it has a built-in fan that spins at 30,000 rpm to keep the chip cool in games. It has one 200MP camera instead of two, and a dedicated AI button for saving video highlights.

Honor says the Super Power lasts more than 7.5 hours of indoor gaming and more than 33 hours of video playback on a charge.
