Best time to find Minior

Every day of a shower, from 5 to 9 p.m. local time, shooting stars light up the in-game sky and Minior appears in the wild more often. Outside those hours, Minior is still in the wild during a shower, just less common. Every catch gives extra Stardust, which makes the evening window a good time to stock up for power-ups.

The Orionids overlap with the run-up to Pokémon GO Halloween 2026, which starts on Oct. 27, so evening play this week covers both Minior and the last days before the Halloween debuts.

All seven Minior core colors

Minior cores come in seven colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Each shower brings one new color into Pokémon GO. The Geminids in December are the exception, with one color debuting in the Northern Hemisphere and another in the Southern Hemisphere, which makes seven colors across six showers.

The announcement doesn’t list which color belongs to which shower. In the wild, Minior shows up in its brown Meteor Form, the rocky shell that covers the core.

How Minior battles in Pokémon GO

Minior changes form mid-fight. It starts in Meteor Form, with higher Defense and lower Attack. Once its HP drops below 50%, the shell breaks and exposes the core, which flips the stats to higher Attack and lower Defense.

At launch, the form change works only against Team GO Rocket, against team leaders and in the GO Battle League. Minior isn’t eligible for the 2027 Latin America International Championships, one of the Pokémon GO events on the road to the Pokémon World Championships 2027.

This page is updated as soon as the Pokémon GO team names the core colors for the Leonids and Geminids or changes a shower’s dates.
