Judas release date: Ken Levine's BioShock follow-up still has no date, almost four years after its reveal
Judas doesn't have a release date. Ghost Story Games, the studio led by BioShock creator Ken Levine, revealed it at The Game Awards in December 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and as of Oct. 16, 2026, Steam still lists it only as coming soon. The studio's last update was a developer diary in December 2025. Judas is a narrative first-person shooter set on a disintegrating colony ship, where three rival characters compete for your trust and one of them can turn into the villain.

Judas is still a no-date game. Ken Levine’s first new game since BioShock Infinite was revealed in 2022, and the studio’s latest word, from late 2025, was that it’s focused on finishing it. Here’s what’s confirmed.
When is Judas coming out?
Ghost Story Games hasn’t said. The Steam page lists Judas as coming soon, with no year, season or window, and the game’s PC system requirements are still marked as to be confirmed. There’s no price and no pre-order.
Judas was revealed at The Game Awards on Dec. 8, 2022, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Almost four years later, it has a Steam page, an Xbox store page and two trailers, but no date.
The studio has been open about the slow pace. In its first dev log in August 2025, Ghost Story Games admitted it had been quiet for a while and said it was putting its effort into finishing Judas instead of making trailers. It promised smaller, more frequent updates. The second dev log came on Dec. 2, 2025, and there hasn’t been a third since.
What kind of game Judas is
Judas is a narrative first-person shooter. You play as Judas, a troubled outcast on a disintegrating colony ship full of robots, and your only hope is to make or break alliances with your worst enemies, the Big 3.

The central feature is called Villainy. In BioShock, the villain is fixed. In Judas, the Big 3 compete for your favor: they can bribe you, save you in a fight and share secrets. Ignore one of them for long enough, and that character becomes the villain, with new powers to work against you. The studio says the Big 3 watch how you fight, hack and craft, and how you treat the other two. Ghost Story Games finished the Villainy milestone in August 2025, along with its biggest playtest so far.
The second dev log explained where the game started. Each Levine game begins with a core design idea: the Big Daddy and Little Sister bond in BioShock, Elizabeth in Infinite and, in Judas, a story that reacts in real time to even small choices. The team says building that system took many years.
How Judas is connected to BioShock
The connection is the people, not the story. Steam describes Ghost Story Games as a studio led by Ken Levine, the creative director of System Shock 2, BioShock and BioShock Infinite. Judas has a new world and new characters, and the studio uses BioShock mainly as a comparison point in its dev logs.

It’s also not the next BioShock. That game belongs to 2K and is made by a different studio, Cloud Chamber, and it doesn’t have a date either. Our BioShock 4 release date page covers where it stands.
Rumors about the release window
Judas has gone through several unofficial estimates since its reveal, and some recent ones put it in 2027 or later. Ghost Story Games hasn’t confirmed any window, and neither has Take-Two, which owns the studio.
There’s no event where the studio has promised news. The biggest showcase left this year is The Game Awards on Dec. 10, the same show where Judas was revealed, and our Game Awards 2026 page has the details. Ghost Story Games has also used Steam dev logs for news, so an update could come without a showcase.
This page is updated as soon as Ghost Story Games announces a release date, a new trailer or another dev log for Judas.
