Hytale release date: in early access on PC since Jan. 13, 2026, with no date yet for the full game or consoles

Hytale is playable, but it isn’t finished, and there’s no date for when it will be. Here’s where the game stands.

When does Hytale come out?

It’s already out in early access. Hypixel Studios released Hytale on PC on Jan. 13, 2026, through its own website and launcher, after opening pre-purchases on Dec. 13, 2025. The studio hasn’t announced a date for the full release, and it calls this true early access, meaning the game is unfinished and still changing quickly.

Instead of a version 1.0, Hytale is growing in chapters. The chapter screen tracks objectives and cosmetic rewards, and the studio has described it as a roadmap for your progress through early access. Chapter I: Out of the Breach came out on Oct. 12, 2026, and a crafting rework is planned for Chapter 2, which doesn’t have a date yet.

Is Hytale coming to PS5, Xbox or Switch?

Eventually, but not soon. In its first FAQ, in December 2025, Hypixel Studios said the early access would be on PC only. On consoles, the studio wrote, “We are planning for a console release at a later stage,” and added that the backend work involved wasn’t something it wanted to put resources into yet. It hasn’t named platforms or given a window since.

There’s no mobile version during early access either, and Hytale isn’t on Steam: the studio said it wanted to work with its existing community first rather than chase quick first impressions from a much bigger audience.

How much is Hytale?

The cheapest edition, the Starter Edition, costs $19.99. Hypixel Studios has said it plans to expand what every edition includes over the course of early access, and that it’s working on regional pricing.

The game’s history explains why it launched this way. Hytale was cancelled in 2025, and its original founders bought it back in November 2025, returned to an older build and rehired a team of about 50 people, before launching early access about two months later.

What’s in Chapter I?

Out of the Breach opens at the Forgotten Temple, where a new Goblin Lab starts the chapter. A temporary portal leads to the Goblin Breach, a fragment of the world that regenerates each visit and holds a new biome, the Guttering Hollows. The goblins bring gadgets, among them the Scrap Drill, the Scrap Glider, Rocket Boots and a Hookshot, and a new ability system lets you slot up to two of seven Ability Runestones, such as Fireball and Ground Slam, with eight Modifier Runestones.

It all leads to the Deepworks, Hytale’s first handcrafted dungeon, with the Feastmaster as its first boss and a multi-phase fight against the Gobliterator at the end. The studio posted its first round of hotfixes on the same day.
